Your home among the peaks
Where summer breathes slow
A family refuge at 1,400 metres, among meadows, larch woods and wide skies. Trails from the doorstep, long evenings and a good kind of silence.
Welcome
A house of wood and light, where time slows down.
For three generations the Brunner family has welcomed guests to Val Serena. A handful of rooms, a lit fire, a breakfast that tastes of hay and apples. Not a grand hotel, but a refuge tended in every detail — the way you care for things at home.
Where we are
At 1,400 metres, where the Passeier Valley meets the sky.
We cling to the sunny side of the valley, half an hour from Merano and its palm trees, an hour from the alpine passes. High enough to see the stars, close enough to give up nothing.
Getting here
By car
Bolzano Sud exit, then the MeBo toward Merano and the Passeier Valley. Parking and EV charging on site.
By train
Merano station, transfer on request up into the valley (35 minutes).
By air
Bolzano, Innsbruck or Verona airports. We arrange the journey for you.
The rooms
Twelve rooms, no two alike.
Stone-pine wood, raw linen, windows that frame the mountains. Each room has its own light and character.
All roomsWellness
Two hundred square metres to do nothing.
A sauna scented with stone pine, a hot tub facing the peaks, a quiet room where time is forgotten. After a day in the snow or on the trails, the body turns light again.

Taste
Honest, regional, homemade.
Bread leaves the oven every morning, the jam is from apples in our garden, the cheese comes from the alpine dairy just above. We cook what the valley gives us, nothing more.
Mountain breakfast
Hay, dandelion honey, fresh eggs and cakes straight from the oven.
Half board
Four courses in the evening, a menu that changes with the harvest.
The cellar
South Tyrolean wines and a few labels from the border valleys.
Nature
Out there, you're never bored.
The seasons here are nothing alike. The light shifts, the pace shifts — but the mountain is always within reach.

Responsibility
Sustainable by conviction.
We don't do it for a plaque on the wall. We do it because this valley is our home, and we want to leave it better than we found it.
Short supply chain
Milk, cheese and meat from farms just a few kilometres away.
Clean energy
Biomass district heating and solar panels on the roof.
Less waste
No single-use, spring water, composting on site.
Built in wood
Local stone pine and spruce, low-impact construction.
